WHAT WE LOOK FOR
The Monroe Police Department looks to employ dedicated individuals, who genuinely desire to serve with a community policing emphasis, and are willing to commit to high personal standards in law enforcement. We seek people with good common sense, and have problem solving skill abilities. Our mission includes finding permanent solutions to problems, rather than just the enforcement of laws. The typical Monroe officer works on a wide range of activities, from simple code enforcement, to intervening in serious crimes.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
U.S. citizen; Driver license; Good driving record; Good physical condition; Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification; High school diploma; 60 college credits; Ability to possess a firearm; No felony convictions; No domestic abuse convictions; Vision correctable to 20/20; Good verbal and written communication skills; React quickly and effectively to stressful situations; Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems; Clear and concise speech; Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously; Ability to perform essential functions of this position; Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment; Those with strong Spanish language skills encouraged to apply.

WAGE AND BENEFITS
Current officer entry level salary is based on contract at $22.11 per hour. Officers work 2008 hours annually on a 6/3 rotating schedule, 8.25 hr. day.
